Wax Blockage

One of the important defense mechanism found in human body is the secretion of cerumen or earwax. This protects the ear from outside environment by preventing the growth of the bacteria and by trapping the dirt. But sometimes, in some individuals there is a very high secretion of earwax. This result in the hardening due to accumulation and it becomes tough to remove it naturally.

Causes: Excess secretion of ear wax before the old secretion is replaced, results in the wax blockage. Also some people in an attempt to clean the ear will push the secreted wax as they use the buds and swabs of the cotton. This will result in the deposition of wax causing blockage in the ear.
Symptoms: The first and foremost symptom is severe pain in the ear. Also due to blockage the capacity of hearing becomes less and the ear would be found to have a feeling of fullness. Other than this many people feel have noisy feeling in the ear, a condition called tinnitus.
Prevention: One should avoid the usage of the cotton swabs since it is the main cause in many of these conditions. Also we shouldn’t use any sharp things to clean our ear, which might cause harm to our ear. Therefore it is always better to meet a physician to relieve of any blockage in the ear.
